Billy C. Sutton, Jr.

Pastor/Elder

Billy is a lifelong resident of Shreveport. He is a 1993 graduate of C.E. Byrd High School. During his senior year at Byrd on February 14, 1993, he was saved by God's grace. He and has a Bachelor of Sciences degree in Marketing from Louisiana State University in Shreveport (1997).  At LSU-Shreveport, he lettered two years in basketball. On February 19, 2000, Billy married his high school and college sweetheart, Kara Denise Phillips. Billy and Kara have been graciously blessed by God with three sons: Christopher Cyle, Connor Andrew and Collier Matthew.
Billy has been active in church ministry since his conversion. He lead Youth and College & Career from 1997 until 2007. He was hired as a part-time ministry assistant in 2008. After one year of service in this position, he followed the call of God to serve as an Associate Pastor from June 2008 until December 2008. In December 2008, he and a small group of believers sensed the Lord's guidance to start Redeemer Fellowship as a church plant in Southern Hills, where Billy and his family live. In October 2010, Billy and the congregation of Redeemer Fellowship came in contact with members of Community Bible Church. Community Bible had been searching for a pastor for two years and had been experiencing decline. In short, Redeemer Fellowship and Community Bible made the decision to merge congregations on June 12, 2011.

Billy was ordained on March 21, 2010 by Heritage Baptist Church, which sponsored Redeemer Fellowship as a church plant. Billy received his Master of Divinity in Great Commission Studies from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in May 2011. He began course work for his PhD at Southern in January 2014.
He enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, and reading.
